Supervision is a specialized area of psychological activity that has its own foundation of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, which are enhanced by training. As our discipline develops its standards for competent practice in supervision, there is a need to develop ethical guidelines to assist both supervisors and supervisees in maintaining productive working relationships. Organized around the hierarchy of ethical principles comprising the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists, the Canadian Psychological Association adopted Ethical Guidelines for Supervision in Psychology: Teaching, Research, Practice, and Administration in early 2009. In this article, each of the four ethical principles (Respect for the Dignity of Persons, Responsible Caring, Integrity in Relationships, and Responsibility to Society) is examined in the context of supervision within the areas of teaching, research, practice, and administration. Objective: This article examines the form and function of spontaneous communication and outcome predictors in nonverbal children with autism following classroom-based intervention (Picture Exchange Communication System [PECS] training). Method: 84 children from 15 schools participated in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of PECS (P. Howlin, R. K. Gordon, G. Pasco, A. Wade, & T. Charman, 2007). They were aged 4–10 years (73 boys). Primary outcome measure was naturalistic observation of communication in the classroom. Multilevel Poisson regression was used to test for intervention effects and outcome predictors. This study used data from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Survey, Kindergarten Class of 1998–1999, to (a) estimate mathematics achievement trends through 5th grade in the population of students who are English-language proficient by the end of kindergarten, (b) compare trends across primary language groups within this English-language proficient group, (c) evaluate the effect of low socioeconomic status (SES) for English-language proficient students and within different primary language groups, and (d) estimate language-group trends in specific mathematics skill areas. The group of English-language proficient English-language learners (ELLs) was disaggregated into native Spanish speakers and native speakers of Asian languages, the 2 most prevalent groups of ELLs in the United States. Results of multilevel latent variable growth modeling suggest that primary language may be less salient than SES in explaining the mathematics achievement of English-language proficient ELLs. The study also found that mathematics-related school readiness is a key factor in explaining subsequent achievement differences and that the readiness gap is prevalent across the range of mathematics-related skills. Torrefied almond shells and wood chips were incorporated into polypropylene as fillers to produce torrefied biomass‐polymer composites. The composites were prepared by extrusion and injection molding. Response surface methodology was used to examine the effects of filler concentration, filler size, and lignin factor (relative lignin to cellulose concentration) on the material properties of the composites. The heat distortion temperatures, thermal properties, and tensile properties of the composites were characterized by thermomechanical analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and tensile tests, respectively. The torrefied biomass composites had heat distortion temperatures of 8–24°C higher than that of neat polypropylene. This was due to the torrefied biomass restricting mobility of polypropylene chains, leading to higher temperatures for deformation. The incorporation of torrefied biomass generally resulted in an increase in glass transition temperature, but did not affect melting temperature. Also, the composites had lower tensile strength and elongation at break values than those of neat polypropylene, indicating weak adhesion between torrefied biomass and polypropylene. Synthesis of a polyfluorene/poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) derivative, the Poly [(9,9′‐di‐hexylfluorenediylvinylene‐alt‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene)‐co‐((9,9′‐(3‐t‐butylpropanoate) fluorene‐1,4‐phenylene)] (LaPPS 42) was performed following Wittig and Suzuki routes. Polyfluorenes and derivatives have been used in electroluminescent devices, and the synthesis described here has the advantage in pave the way to get distinct structures having different emission spectra. An extensive study of its electrochemical, thermomechanical, optical, and structural properties was carried out, as well as its application in electroluminescent devices. Polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs) and polymer light‐emitting electrochemical cells (PLECs) were built using LaPPS 42 as active layer, and their electric and optical characterizations confirm they have a potential as active element in electroluminescent devices. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work we examine the positive bias temperature instability (PBTI) and stress induced leakage current (SILC) reliability of nFET devices with thin (2.5 nm) ZrO2 gate dielectric layers. nFET devices show anomalous PBTI behavior in the form of a negative threshold voltage (Vt) shift during positive bias stress with little temperature dependence and it is not ‘frozen out’ at lower temperatures, indicating a single non-diffusion based mechanism. Correlations between the PBTI and the stress induced leakage current (SILC) suggest that the PBTI effect originates from trapping into empty defects which are initially detected as SILC and located just below the silicon conduction band. These defects also appear to be linked to the time dependent dielectric breakdown behavior.  相似文献

In this work we demonstrate the effects of a post processing high temperature anneal on the reliability of ultra-thin SiON layers fabricated into both nmos and pmos devices in terms of the initial gate leakage current, stress induced leakage current (SILC), and the time dependent dielectric breakdown behaviour. The devices under consideration were annealed at several temperatures up to 500 °C. We show that different mechanisms dominate the leakage behaviour at different temperatures by examining the relative leakage in the low voltage range. In particular for pmos devices, the emptying of electron traps induced by temperature and subsequent annealing of these traps alters the leakage current profiles significantly, dependent on anneal temperature. We show that annealing improves the time dependent dielectric breakdown (TDDB) lifetimes of nmos devices and examine the reasons for this.  相似文献

An analysis is reported of a design for a local exhaust ventilation system for the molten cuprous chloride pouring station in an industrial plant. Heat recovery from molten cuprous chloride is a key process within the copper–chlorine (Cu–Cl) cycle of thermochemical water splitting for hydrogen production. Because of particulate matter, dust, and vapors emitted by the molten salt, an effective and safe design is crucial. The design process involves calculating duct diameters to provide the desired duct air velocity through the system. The static pressure is evaluated so that the fan size can be determined. An adequate supply of makeup air must be provided to replace the air exhausted through the ventilation system. The economics of the ventilation system and ways to protect employee health, as well as minimize the costs associated with exhaust ventilation, are also described. The present study seeks to establish the validity of the Group Psychotherapy Intervention Rating Scale (GPIRS), an observer-rated measure of the quality of group leader interventions. Concurrent validity was tested by comparing GPIRS results to 2 group gold standard process measures, the Hill Interaction Matrix and the Group Climate Questionnaire. Significant correlations between leader intervention scores and group member perceptions of group climate, as well as verbal interaction scores, were found. In addition, results indicated correlations between interventions aimed to gain balance between confrontation and warmth and member-rated levels of cohesion.
